You can upload JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF files. The editor processes images as JPEG internally for Gemini compatibility. Very large files are supported thanks to direct Cloud Function routing that bypasses the standard 1 MB proxy limit.

How does inpainting work?

You paint a mask over the area you want to change using the brush tool. The editor crops that region, sends it to Gemini with your prompt, and then precisely blends the AI-generated result back into the original image using the mask boundaries.

What is the edit strength slider?

Edit strength controls how aggressively Gemini modifies the image. Low strength makes subtle adjustments while preserving the original look. High strength (≥ 68%) applies a full style override — the image is blurred before sending so the model focuses on your prompt rather than the original texture.

Can I undo edits?

Yes. Every generation is added to the project history. Use the History panel to view all previous versions, restore any earlier state, or fork a branch to explore different directions without losing your work.
